Sean Dotson has been getting some extra press<\/a> lately and I\u2019m happy to jump on the bandwagon.  <\/span>I had the pleasure of meeting Sean at COFES<\/a> more than three years ago and we\u2019ve become good friends since then.  <\/span>A leader in the CAD community, Sean has been helping users for many years through several websites.  <\/span>Check out mcadforums.com<\/a> for one of the best CAD related forums on the internet.  <\/span>I\u2019m partial to the SolidWorks section, but the off-topic forum is a lot of fun too.<\/span><\/p>\n

Sean also maintains a home page, sdotson.com.  <\/span>Named one of TenLinks \u201cTop 10 Sites\u201d for five years running, you can find Sean\u2019s blog, industry news, downloads, and links.  He also manages to run a very successful company in Florida, RND Automation & Engineering<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span>It should be noted that Sean has been an Inventor user since the early days.  <\/span>But that hasn\u2019t stopped him from becoming a vital part of the SolidWorks community.  <\/span>When I asked him to create a SWUGN forum on his site, he didn\u2019t hesitate for a second.  <\/span>He even gave me moderator permission.  <\/span>The SWUGN forum and the SolidWorks forum have become a great resource for SolidWorks users, and traffic has increased markedly in recent months.<\/span><\/p>\n

Of particular note to SolidWorks users, Sean\u2019s write-up<\/a> on SolidWorks World 2005 is worth a read.  <\/span>Sean is scheduled to make a return trip to SolidWorks World 2007 in New Orleans; we\u2019re looking forward to having him there again.<\/span><\/p>\n
