Who decides What’s New in SOLIDWORKS? Product Definition team\u00a0members are a major component in determining and defining enhancements and new functionality included within the SOLIDWORKS products each year. They meet face-to-face with SOLIDWORKS customers to discuss what’s working, what isn’t, and what they would like to see in the future. These customer visits are fantastic opportunities for you to connect with SOLIDWORKS directly, and let us know what we can do to help make your jobs easier.\u00a0Over the next few weeks, we’re going to be talking with members of the Product Definition team for an inside look at their favorite 2016 features.<\/p>\n

\"Product<\/a><\/p>\n

Nandish is a\u00a0Mechanical Engineer who\u00a0carried out his Master’s degree in Product Design and Manufacturing. He has four years of work experience in the field of support, training and development of Simulation tools. In his\u00a0free time, he enjoys going\u00a0out for long rides, trekking, cycling.<\/p>\n

What is your favorite 2016 feature?
\n<\/strong>Results Equation.<\/em><\/p>\n

Why results equation?
\n<\/strong>This is the first functionality I worked on as a PD and the only project I worked in 2016 release.<\/em><\/p>\n

How does the results equation enhance\/improve the user experience?
\n<\/strong>This is a very special functionality which enables the user to create a new type of simulation result plot that is defined with equations using existing result plots as variables and the standard mathematical functions.<\/em><\/p>\n

What was the most enjoyable part of developing the new results equation option?
\n<\/b>As this was the first project for me, I enjoyed writing specs for this feature and also enjoyed the testing of the functionality.<\/em><\/p>\n

Was this\u00a0functionality\u00a0initiated by a customer visit? An Enhancement Request? How did it start?
\n<\/strong>There were two SPR\u2019s in the database with few customer requests each.<\/em><\/p>\n

Any other thoughts on Product Definition and what your team does?
\n<\/strong>I am very proud of the work I am doing as a Product Definition Manager\u00a0for SOLIDWORKS Simulation. It is an opportunity to provide the engineers\/designers\/analysts\u00a0around the globe with right tools and\u00a0the right functionalities they need to do their jobs.\u00a0<\/em>
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

And finally, your favorite color?
\n<\/strong>Blue.<\/em><\/p>\n
