This year, we\u2019re making sure that includes 3D CAD. From lightsabers to astromech droids, this post combines CAD with a galaxy far, far away.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Design your own lightsaber<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Whether your loyalties fall on the light or dark side of the force, building your own lightsaber is something all fans have thought of. <strong>Aaron Winthers, SOLIDWORKS Application Engineer at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prismeng.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Prism Engineering<\/a><\/strong>, <strong>and Joe Galliera, Senior Technical Sales Specialist with SOLIDWORKS<\/strong>, collaborated to help you design your own elegant weapon for a more civilized age.<\/p>\n<p>Aaron began the project by searching the internet for lightsaber design plans. He found a model inspired by Luke Skywalker\u2019s Return of the Jedi model. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/jayseaprod.wix.com\/jayseaproductionsfinal#!__site\/page-5\/photostackergallery2=7\" target=\"_blank\">Click here to view the model<\/a><\/strong>. \u00a0Aaron designed the lightsaber to have dynamic motion of its blade at the assembly level. From here, you can make a configuration of your own. How can we suspend disbelief?
