Every year in the weeks leading up to SolidWorks World<\/a>, we give attendees a chance to learn about some of our Solution Partners attending the event and setting up booths in the Partner Pavilion. Our partners play a big role in making the event great every year, and they always come with some of the newest technology and tools that help make SolidWorks users more productive. Now through January 26, we\u2019re giving some of these partners a chance to let attendees know what they can expect\u2013in their own words. Today we hear from Mastercam.<\/p>\n

\"Mastercam<\/a>Mastercam develops software to run CNC machines, including mills, multi-tasking machines, routers, wire EDM, Swiss machines, and lathes. We started in 1983 and are currently celebrating our 30th<\/sup> anniversary!\u00a0Modern CNC machines run on g-code, which is the common name for the most widely used numerical control (NC) programming language. Used mainly in automation, it is part of computer-aided engineering and instructs the machines to move in a certain manner.\u00a0Our Mastercam Family of Products produces the g-code based on your CAD design.\u00a0You design it, we help you machine it!<\/p>\n

We offer a range of products to suit the various needs of machine shops.\u00a0 From Mastercam Mill (for milling machines) to Mill-Turn, Mastercam\u00ae for SolidWorks\u00ae, Mastercam Lathe, and Mastercam Swiss Expert, our products are developed to handle the most complex jobs a machine shop may have.\u00a0We also handle waterjets, lasers and similar machines, can control 5-axis machines with our Multi-Axis Add-On, and recently released a product called Mastercam Swiss Expert which is developed specifically to control Swiss-style machines.<\/p>\n

SolidWorks users are very creative when it comes to designing.\u00a0Combined with the power of SolidWorks, there is almost nothing that can\u2019t be designed.\u00a0We help take those designs and turn them into reality.\u00a0By designing in 3D, you are capturing everything about the design.\u00a0In Mastercam, or in our integrated product Mastercam for SolidWorks, we apply toolpaths directly on your design, following the contours, surfaces, and anything else that is part of the design.\u00a0There are less chances for errors too, since the design does not have to be \u201credrawn\u201d in the CAM product.<\/p>\n

SolidWorks World attendees should visit our booth because we have a wide variety of products to suit your needs.\u00a0If your company has a machine shop, most likely those machines run on G-code, and we can help!\u00a0 If your company doesn\u2019t have a machine shop but perhaps sends their files out, we can still talk with you so your communication and experience working with your vendors is efficient and enjoyable.\u00a0We will also have an ISCAR rep in our booth, and their experience with tooling will help any shop gain a competitive advantage by saving both time and money cutting parts.
