in SolidWorks 2014: saving sorts in BOMs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Tables have seen several improvements in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.solidworks.com\/launch\/overview.htm?SCID=sm_bl_launch14_blog\">SolidWorks 2014<\/a>. \u00a0One specifically for BOMs is the ability to save sorts. \u00a0In previous versions of SolidWorks, sorting BOMs was a one time action. \u00a0Each time you wanted to sort a BOM, you re-entered your criteria. \u00a0Not any more. \u00a0BOMs now have an option that allows you to save your sort by checking the setting called &#8220;Save current sort settings&#8221; from the <em>Sort<\/em> dialog. \u00a0Sort dialog is now available when you right-click on the BOM and select <em>Sort<\/em>&gt;<em>Custom Sort&#8230;<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-20372\" alt=\"Save sort\" the dialog, your settings will be stored with the BOM table. \u00a0If you make changes to your assembly or the BOM that adds, removes or changes your components, you can reapply your sort at any time by right-clicking on the BOM and selecting <em>Sort<\/em>&gt;<em>Apply Saved Sort Scheme<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter current sort settings<\/em> is employed on a BOM, the settings are remembered when that BOM is saved as a BOM template. \u00a0This means, on any new drawings, the sort is automatically applied when the BOM template is used to create new BOM!<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.solidworks.com\/launch\/overview.htm?SCID=sm_bl_launch14_blog\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"
