Immerse Yourself in Browser-based Design, Extended Reality, and Visualization at 3DEXPERIENCE World

Have you registered for 3DEXPERIENCE World yet? If not, there’s still time to register for the annual user event taking place in Houston, Texas February 1-4th. In fact, you can even register on site. Last week, I provided a sneak peek of hot topics you don’t want to miss in this blog, including sessions on artificial intelligence (AI), science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM), configure price quote (CPQ), collaboration, and more.

This week, I’m sharing more recommended sessions that will be led by the SOLIDWORKS portfolio management team on browser-based design and simulation, virtual reality (VR)/augmented reality (AR), and more!

Learn about new extended reality technology in SOLIDWORKS xDesign.

Don’t miss your chance to test drive the latest technology and learn about our popular browser-based solutions, including SOLIDWORKS xDesign that combines powerful tools for subdivision modeling, parametric modeling, and more, all in one convenient interface, and 3D Motion Creator for motion analysis, along with SOLIDWORKS Visualize and more. Let’s take a look at the presenters and their sessions below.

Christopher Pagliarini, Product Portfolio Manager

Chris joined Dassault Systèmes in 2019 and has over a decade of hands-on experience with SOLIDWORKS, as well as a strong background in aerospace and defense design. His career has been deeply rooted in engineering innovation, with a focus on model-based definition (MBD) to streamline design processes and enhance collaboration. He currently works closely with xDesign and the xDrawing app that combines both MBD and 2D drawings, as well as other xApps, to develop tools that empower users to achieve precision and efficiency.

Chris has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Wentworth Institute of Technology. He is passionate about advancing design and manufacturing technology. Outside of work he is always seeking adventure – whether it’s traveling, golfing, skiing, or spending quality time with family and friends.

Catch Chris in the following sessions:

Efficient Design with xDesign: Mastering Contextual Tools and Shortcuts – co-hosted by Christopher Pagliarini and Renan Ichi

Tuesday, Feb. 3rd from 11:00 AM – 12:30 PM CST

Bring your favorite laptop or tablet to participate in this hands-on session, and discover how to design an entire part without using the side menus, action bar, or DesignManager feature tree. Chris and Renan will help you immerse yourself in the work area and focus on your model through context toolbars, minibars, and AI features, to avoid unnecessary mouse travel and clicks. In addition, they’ll cover some of their favorite tips and tricks to create high-quality models in a shorter period of time, even if you have never used xDesign.

Mega Meetup: Web Browser Power Hour with the xApps! – co-hosted by Robert Jost, Christopher Pagliarini, Dan McGinn, and Francois Hoeb

Tuesday, Feb. 3rd from 5:00 PM – 5:45 PM CST

(See description below)

Renan Ichi, Product Portfolio Manager

Renan Ichi joined Dassault Systèmes in 2019 and is currently a product manager who works with xDesign, eDrawings, and SOLIDWORKS Visualize.

Renan is from São Paulo, Brazil, currently based in Boston, and has a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Utah. From an early age, he always wanted to know how things work and was inspired to study engineering by his dad and grandfather, who were both mechanical engineers.

“When I got the opportunity to join SOLIDWORKS, the CAD software I had grown to love during school, I jumped on it,” he said. Today, as a product manager, he continues to fuel his curiosity through his focus on emerging technologies and the future of CAD. A fun fact his peers may not know is that Renan is into fashion and sewing, a hobby he picked up in high school. In addition, he loves spending time with his wife and kids, cycling, hiking, camping, and traveling.

You can catch up with Renan in the following sessions:

Extended Reality Meet-Up – co-hosted by Renan Ichi and Gabe Enright

Monday, Feb. 2nd from 1:30 PM – 2:15 PM CST

Do you want to immerse yourself in your products and reduce time-to-market at the same time? Do you want to reduce the number of physical prototypes and catch mistakes earlier? Extended Reality (XR) technology can help! XR encompasses VR, AR, and Mixed Reality (MR).

In this presentation, you’ll learn how to use XR from the beginning of your process to the end. From planning your manufacturing process to creating great user experiences to supporting sales and marketing, extended reality will enhance your workflows. In this session, we’ll explore current and future capabilities.

Come ready to share your ideas, insights, needs, and lessons learned. We’ll have the latest gear on site so you can get hands-on experience and see how solutions from SOLIDWORKS, 3DEXCITE, and the 3DEXPERIENCE platform can transform your digital prototypes.

Turn Your CAD Models into Interactive Product Experiences

Monday, Feb. 2nd from 4:15 PM – 5:00 PM CST

Discover how to transform your CAD models into engaging, interactive web experiences that can drive value across marketing, sales, training, and documentation. In this session, you’ll see how simple it is to bring your designs to life online, directly from the CAD models you already have. Explore practical ways to seamlessly integrate these interactive experiences into your own website, empowering customers to explore and understand your products to enhance their buying experience.
