AAKRUTI Innovation Competition 2025 GEO Finales

AAKRUTI is a leading student design and innovation competition that challenges students to solve real-world problems using technology, creativity, and engineering skills. Featuring SOLIDWORKS and 3DEXPERIENCE technology by Dassault Systèmes, student teams receive guidance from their university mentor and submit their concepts.

Ten GEO Finale winning teams will receive a golden ticket to travel and participate in the International Finale at 3DEXPERIENCE World, February 1-4, 2026, in Houston, TX. GEO winners will also be featured in the EDU Zone – Playground Exhibition Hall. At 3DEXPERIENCE World, our SOLIDWORKS community can review their designs and attend the final presentations.

In April 2025, AAKRUTI launched with a video showcasing the competition categories, what’s in it for students —including software and training —and our support through volunteers.

340 students representing 37 countries developed prototypes and submitted their conceptual designs through the AAKRUTI SWYM community.  Students received hours of training, certification exam vouchers, and an opportunity to win cash prizes, a job with Dassault Systèmes, and a trip to 3DEXPERIENCE World 2026.

This month, 41 teams compete in 16 GEO Finales. I was fortunate to attend the Americas Finale, featuring students from North and South America, and to review this year’s objectives.

Regional semi-finals were held either live or virtually, in front of a panel jury. Countries included Egypt, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nigeria, the Philippines, Singapore, South Africa, Thailand, Tunisia, and Turkey. There were also GEO Finales in India, Europe/Africa/Middle East, Asia Pacific, and the Americas.

Students explain a problem they are trying to solve and present their solution. The teams also answer a series of challenging questions from jury members.

Suchit Jain, VP of Strategy, Business Development, and Community, is judging the India GEO Finals this week.  Suchit stated, “AAKRUTI is on the way to becoming the world’s largest design and engineering competition for students, connecting talent, technology, and purpose across continents.”

Thank you to our SOLIDWORKS Value Added Resellers/Partners, juries, mentors, and Dassault Systèmes volunteers for supporting these teams.

Good luck to all in the International Finale at 3DEXPERIENCE World 2026.

Design well, Marie
