EgyptSWUG: The Racing Edition Tour that United Egypt’s SOLIDWORKS Community

The SOLIDWORKS User Group Network continues to thrive worldwide, and nowhere is this more evident than in Egypt. Led by the dynamic and passionate Ahmed Abdelnasser, Africa & MENA Committee Leader, the Egypt SOLIDWORKS User Group (EgyptSWUG) recently wrapped up an incredible nationwide tour that combined high-speed inspiration with hands-on engineering education. With events spanning five cities and over 1,000 attendees, “The Racing Edition” brought together students, professionals, and innovators for a shared celebration of design, technology, and community.

Over the past month, Egypt SOLIDWORKS User Group (EgyptSWUG) embarked on a bold mission: to bring the power of SOLIDWORKS, the energy of racing-inspired engineering, and the strength of community collaboration to engineers and students across Egypt.

Under the theme “The Racing Edition,” we hosted seven unforgettable events across five cities with more than 1000 attendees: Cairo, Alexandria, Mansoura, Port Said, and Qena. This tour wasn’t just about showcasing technology. It was about building a passionate engineering community, exchanging real-world knowledge, and celebrating innovation together.

A Theme That Drove Us Forward

The “Racing Edition” theme captured the spirit of speed, precision, and performance core values shared between motorsports and mechanical design. Every session was tailored to deliver high-impact learning around key topics, such as:

  • Topology Optimization – helping users create lighter, stronger parts
  • Structure Systems  –  robust, scalable design tools
  • Reverse Engineering – using 3D scanning and digital tools to rebuild and improve

We also introduced attendees to advanced workflows involving simulation, additive manufacturing, and automation, showing how SOLIDWORKS and 3DEXPERIENCE can quickly turn ideas into actions.

Every stop included live demos, inspiring talks, and hands-on challenges, like Model Mania Xtreme. More importantly, it brought people together, forming a network of learners, educators, and professionals who now continue the conversation beyond these events.
