What’s New in SOLIDWORKS PDM 2025

SOLIDWORKS PDM 2025 is coming soon! Enhancements to SOLIDWORKS PDM streamline accessibility, help you better understand assembly structures, and improve revision management.

Here’s a preview of what you can look forward to. For starters, file check-in and check-out are much faster, and there is better Bill of Materials (BOM) visibility, quicker access to commands and more. Here’s a look at some of the top new capabilities.

  1. Viewing the FeatureManager Design Tree Assembly Order in Computed BOMs – improve BOM visibility.

The assembly structure order displayed in the SOLIDWORKS PDM computed BOMs now follows the same order as the SOLIDWORKS FeatureManager Design Tree.

Easily understand the order of the assembly structure shown in the bill of materials tab which follows the same order as the SOLIDWORKS FeatureManager.

  1. Increased Flexibility for Caching Data – save time and simplify data access by with new options in the “Get dialog.”

In the SOLIDWORKS PDM “Get” dialog, you can now check out files while performing a “Get Latest” operation on them provided you have check-out rights.

You can also get the latest revision structure more quickly by using the new “Get Latest Revision” option in the SOLIDWORKS PDM “Get” dialog. This command can also be accessed from different places such as search results, and in the right-click menu of a vault view.

The Version tab now displays the information on the latest revision, such as revision level, the version number and the associated comment. You can also use these commands in the SOLIDWORKS PDM add-in toolbar and CommandManager. These options will simplify data access and make these tasks faster.

Take advantage of new options for caching revisions and get the latest revision or a specified revision.

  1. Availability of SOLIDWORKS PDM Toolbar and CommandManager Tab – bypass the Task Pane for accessing commands and enjoy an increased graphics area.

Access all the SOLIDWORKS PDM commands from a dedicated SOLIDWORKS PDM tab in the SOLIDWORKS CommandManager toolbar and gain graphics area by collapsing the Task pane.”

Easily access SOLIDWORKS PDM functions from a new SOLIDWORKS PDM tab in the SOLIDWORKS CommandManager toolbar.

  1. Increased User Tracking – Gain a more complete audit trail of user activities.

View the user authentication details for a vault in the SOLIDWORKS PDM Professional Administration tool. The authentication details include the user name, the date, and time when the user has logged in and out, and the SOLIDWORKS PDM client used (desktop or Web2).

Admin can get a clearer picture of user activities as the system now tracks when users log in and out.

  1. Improved Web 2.0 Performance – access your files and folders faster in the web client.

Browse faster in folders with thousands of files and leverage the improved file preview performance.
