Every SOLIDWORKS LIVE Episode on 3D Design, Simulation, & more!

SOLIDWORKS LIVE has been dedicated to showcasing the best of our software use cases and, inherently, our user community for years now. Over the past several months, we’ve put 1+ hours each into doing both of those things within subject areas like design, simulation, data management, manufacturing, and more!

But, particularly for those four areas, we did our best to deliver an instructive, compelling episode for each key CAD/CAE software domain listed. This blog is a round-up of sorts, cataloging each for your viewing (or revisiting) pleasure.

DESIGN: What’s New in SOLIDWORKS 2023

SOLIDWORKS 2023 garnered the honor of bringing in the largest worldwide audience in SOLIDWORKS history with this SOLIDWORKS LIVE launch episode. Within this playback, you’ll learn about some of the best enhancements in SOLIDWORKS 2023 in areas like parts, features, assemblies, drawings, rendering (with SOLIDWORKS Visualize), and data management. We also heard about how xApps like xDesign and xShape (included within tiers of the 3DEXPERIENCE SOLIDWORKS bundle) can help you design smarter, faster, and together.

Fun fact about the episode: This was the first episode of SOLIDWORKS LIVE ever to eclipse 100,000 views on YouTube!

SIMULATION: Simulating SOLIDWORKS Models in 2023

Simulating SOLIDWORKS Models in 2023 is far different than it looked in, say, 2013. With the power of cloud computing and the increasing demands being made by your progressively innovative products, we have more capability than ever to offer to ensure you’re getting the best designs possible made for your customers. During this episode, we hear how the team at Resemin is doing just that with their mining equipment. We are also joined by product experts from across the globe who cover how we solve study types like structural, non-linear, electromagnetic, manufacturing, plastics, and much more.

Fun fact about the episode: Each guest segment from this episode featured guests streaming from a different country.

It didn’t feel right to do a manufacturing-based episode this year and NOT be surrounded by a series of different CNC machines. Therefore, we didn’t – we flew down to Texas and met up with our partners at TITANS of CNC to run three-day long streaming series we called “The TITAN Trifecta”!

During these three days, we talked industry trends in hiring, training, and education, and reviewed how engineers and machinists can get their parts made faster with the manufacturing solutions available in 3DEXPERIENCE Works.

Fun fact about the episode: This episode was the first ever on-location episode of SOLIDWORKS LIVE, not counting studio shows or 3DEXPERIENCE World.

DATA MANAGEMENT: Top 10 CAD Data Management Trends

It’s likely true that SOLIDWORKS users are managing their data in more ways than ever. If you’re like a lot of people, you might be venturing out into doing more networking in-person than you have in the past few years. The landscape has changed; needs have changed, too, when it comes to how we store and access our engineering data.

But, we don’t need to tell you that. We have nearly 1,000 SOLIDWORKS Champions working in almost every industry across the globe who can give their surveyed accounts of how they’re tackling these challenges, and where they feel the entire industry can do better. If you’re interested in hearing what a portion of those Champions had to say, check this episode out!

Fun fact about the episode: This was the first episode featuring survey data from SOLIDWORKS Champions Program members. This is a program we made only a couple years ago (but has grown sporadically!) back in mid-2020.
