What?? I Was in Tulsa??

Tulsa – November 2014

I love traveling for my job and visiting SOLIDWORKS User Groups all over the world, and I tend to remember vividly each meeting I attend.  Not so for my April 2014 trip.  While in Oklahoma last week with Suchit Jain, a couple of members of the Oklahoma City SOLIDWORKS User Group insisted that I had been at the Tulsa SOLIDWORKS User Group meeting earlier this year.  I calmly replied that I didn’t think so.  As Suchit and I pulled up to the Bass Pro Shop meeting location, I saw a familiar strip mall and restaurant, and it started coming back to me.  Yes…I was in Tulsa in April.  I had this picture taken just in case I forget again.

This week I’m in Tokyo for SOLIDWORKS World Japan and a meeting with the leaders of the SOLIDWORKS Japan User Group.  I made a short presentation about SWUGN, and was introduced to the entire leadership board of SWJUG.  They do things a little differently here in Japan, but the mission remains the same – providing learning and networking opportunities for SOLIDWORKS users.

I’ll head to Osaka on Friday for a similar event, and a chance to talk to even more potential SWUGN members.  The reception I’ve received here has been overwhelming, and the people are some of the nicest I’ve met.  This is my first trip to Japan, but certainly not my last.

And…I’m positive I won’t forget it.
