Long Island is Big, so is it's SOLIDWORKS User Group

David Antanavige started his SWUGN life by ascending to the leadership of the Tech Valley SOLIDWORKS User Group when Rachel York left for life as a reseller AE.  After doing a great job with the group, he turned it over to Esmaeil Heidari and moved to Long Island, New York.  Not long after, the Long Island SOLIDWORKS User Group was born.

The 1st Meeting
The 1st Meeting

The first meeting was held on October 14th, and it was a good one.  61 people showed up to see David and DS SOLIDWORKS’ own John Picinich present, and representatives from CADD Edge, Cimquest, and CADimensions were on hand to support the group and their customers.  In a very common show of SWUGN solidarity, SOLIDWORKS User Group of New York City leader Matt Rohr also made an appearance.

The meeting was hosted by Scott Hale at Leviton Manufacturing, and according to David, the group was having such a good time that security had to come and kick them out at 9:30pm.  Not bad for a first meeting.

So now in addition to being the most populous island in the US, Long Island can now count a very large SOLIDWORKS User Group among its many attributes.

Great job David!!
