Sneak Peek: 15 Features coming in SOLIDWORKS 2015 – Sketch Relations on Endpoints
Each year SOLIDWORKS releases a new version of its flagship product. This year, during the 15 days prior to the release of SOLIDWORKS 2015 we’re taking a look at 15 of our favorite new features coming in this feature packed release. To learn more about SOLIDWORKS 2015, you can click the banner above and bookmark the launch page for when it goes live on September 9th, 2014.
Adding sketch relations at a common vertex now makes adding sketch relations between two adjacent entities is much easier in SOLIDWORKS 2015. Now instead of needing to select the entities, you can just select a common vertex and the relation pop-up appears. Just like when selecting two entities in a sketch, this single selection presents you with the appropriate relations based on the adjacent sketch geometry. For example, if you select the vertex shared between a line and an arc, SOLIDWORKS presents you with Sketch Relation Popup including both Tangent and Fixed.
This is a fairly subtle enhancement, but it definitely saves a lot of time when adding Sketch Relationships manually.
