Designing Concept to Manufacturing

It’s time to order some new white table napkins and come with my next brilliant idea.  Since most ideas seem to start on table napkins (or so I’ve heard), I figure it’s a good place to start.

If you are someone who is always thinking of how to “build a better mouse trap” (new product), find a solution for a common problem, and either save the world or get rich selling your next invention, I can relate.  I still think the common design process is the best approach. I use the design process for everything, from coming up with new videos to writing presentations. If you need a refresher, or want to see the design process in action, with a new product, you should watch this recorded webinar from a couple of SOLIDWORKS gurus. In this webinar, they run through an entire design from concept to manufacturing in just “22 minutes”.

I believe there are so many opportunities to develop new inventions, and validate them before they are real products. It’s simpler to get your ideas to market much faster, as detailed in this webinar.

So, pick up some napkins, fill your coffee mug, and start working on your new invention today…well, take 22 minutes to watch this first.
