SolidWorks World 2013 Partner Profile: Luxion

One of the things we’ve heard from SolidWorks World attendees over the past few years is that you’d like to learn more in advance about the  SolidWorks partners who set up booths in the Partner Pavilion. So now through SolidWorks World 2013, we’ll be posting a series of blog entries about some of the partners you might think about checking out, and the people who will be representing them. Today we hear from Luxion.

Tell us a little about Luxion

Luxion is the developer of KeyShot, the fastest, easiest and most accurate way to create 3D renderings and animations of SolidWorks data. Luxion has been around since 2003, when it was founded by two brothers in Denmark, Claus Wann Jensen and Henrik Wann Jensen. Henrik Jensen is probably the best known researcher in the rendering world, having authored over 50 papers for SIGGRAPH. He won a technical Oscar for his work in simulating some 98.5% types of human skins in renderings. Now he works at University of San Diego, continuing to develop real-time raytracing.

What products do you sell that SolidWorks customers might find useful?

We offer two version of KeyShot, Standard and Pro, with available add-ons for Animation and Interactive VR’s. We also offer floating license, Network Rendering, Education licenses and have a strong reseller program world-wide

KeyShot users have the advantage of a KeyShot plugin that imports SolidWorks data directly into KeyShot, retaining all assembly structure and colors. Changes to the model are updated with KeyShot Live Linking while renderings and animation are created by with realtime feedback of all materials, environments and lights applied to the scene.

Why should SolidWorks World attendees visit your booth??

We will be showing our new version, KeyShot 4. We will be demonstrating new features along with the Live Linking SolidWorks plugin, KeyShotVR, new Color Libraries and many other new updates to the software.
