Where the Wind Comes Sweepin' Down the Plain

That's right – OK-lah-homa is where I'll be heading this week for SolidWorks User Group meetings in Tulsa and Oklahoma City.  A major storm pushing through today ought to be gone by then, and I expect decent weather throughout the trip.

First stop will be Tulsa where I attended the group's first meeting way back in 2007.  The groups leadership has changed a couple of times since then, but current group leader Patrick O'Hern has done a great job keeping it all together.

Thursday I'll head back to Oklahoma City where my good friend Vladimir Yun has been leading the local chapter for nearly eight years now.  Vladimir is one of the quietest user group leaders ever, but that doesn't stop him from providing one of the best resources for SolidWorks users in the area.

SolidWorks users in both cities will also get a chance to meet their newly elected SWUGN Representative as Lynnette Sabatka will be making the trip from Nebraska.

I like traveling into OU territory, but since college football season is still months away, I'll leave the burnt orange at home this time.  That doesn't mean I won't flash the Hook'em sign once or twice though.

My official title is Senior User Advocacy & SolidWorks User Groups - but most people just call me "The User Group Guy". I've been a SolidWorks user since 1997, and was one of the founding members of the SWUGN Committee. Since starting the Central Texas SolidWorks User Group in 1999, my career path has led me to DS SolidWorks and a dream job supporting the SolidWorks User Group Network worldwide.
