The Pirates are Back (and so are we)

One of my all-time favorite user group names is the Pirates on the Bay SolidWorks User Group.  The group was formed in March of 2007, and has gone through three leadership changes.  The current group leader, Steve Elting, has vowed to return the group to it's original mission – providing technical and networking resources for SolidWorks users in the Tampa/St. Petersburg area on a regular basis.

The group will meet tomorrow (April 20th) at the Bay Harbor Inn in Tampa, and the meeting will feature at least two technical sessions.  I think the real mission of this "resurrection" meeting is to show SolidWorks users in the area that the group is back and will be bigger and better than ever.

An unfortunate casualty of the recent hiatus is the group's logo.  If anyone has an old copy of it, please let me know.

On a side note – this blog will return to it's original location (here) as of now.

My official title is Senior User Advocacy & SolidWorks User Groups - but most people just call me "The User Group Guy". I've been a SolidWorks user since 1997, and was one of the founding members of the SWUGN Committee. Since starting the Central Texas SolidWorks User Group in 1999, my career path has led me to DS SolidWorks and a dream job supporting the SolidWorks User Group Network worldwide.
