One of the things we've heard from SolidWorks World attendees over the past few years is that you'd like to learn more in advance about the SolidWorks partners who set up booths in the Partner Pavilion. So now through January, we'll be posting a series of blog entries about some of the partners you might think about checking out, and the people who will be representing them.

1. Tell us about Trace Software International.
Trace Software International has been providing design and calculation software solutions for the electromechanical industrial automation and power distribution market for more than 20 years. Our main product, elecworks, is an innovative application for electrical CAD and automation design which has received Solidworks Gold Certification.

 

2. Why should SolidWorks World attendees visit your booth?
There are three reasons to come – first, to watch how they can cut their electromechanical automation design time while using a truly Solidworks integrated software, with instant updates between both systems (2D schematics and 3D view) using the same unique database. Secondly, to watch how a machine or a panel can be wired automatically in 3D, with no need to tediously define connection points manually on each electrical component. And finally, imagine how you can seamlessly integrate electrical projects in your existing Solidworks platform. It’s easy, fast and more efficient.

 

3. How can your products or services help make a SolidWorks user’s life easier?
There's no need to import or export electrical data from other software. A real-time bidirectional updating between Solidworks and elecworks guarantees the project coherence taking into account even last minute modifications. Other useful features include an undo/redo functionality, an “intelligent” copy-paste function to copy some projects parts, automated single line diagramming, automated terminal layout drawing creation, easily connected to ERP or Enterprise-PDM, and availability of 3D electrical components via TraceParts portal for automatic wiring feature.
