Amtrak has arrived at ‘World’

If you’ve luxuriated in the sleekness of Amtrak’s Acela, you
can thank two SolidWorks Worlds 2010 attendees, Bruce Hoffman and John
Campbell. They and their teams use SolidWorks software not to design new train
cars – those last for decades – but to continually retrofit, refurbish, and modernize them from the wheels on up.

SolidWorks, they say, keeps the nation’s trains
safe, fresh, and green. Their teams are 60 percent more productive since
switching to SolidWorks, resulting in a better passenger experience. Says Hoffman,
“We’re as high tech as the airlines.”
