SolidWorks World – Bigger Than Last Year!!
Everyone was surprised by the attendance number at SolidWorks World 2009 in Orlando. When Jeff Ray announced the number on stage at the general session, the crowd murmur said it all (Wow. Whoa. Really?). Given the state of the US economy at the time, nobody expected more than 4,000 attendees.
Well, today I heard that attendance for SolidWorks World 2010 in Anaheim will be even higher. Some folks would take that to mean the economy is improving (they could be right), or that the location is better (maybe), or even that it's because Jeff Mirisola is heading up the Stump the Chumps II session.
I think it's because every SolidWorks user wants to attend SolidWorks World, and those that have been there can prove it's value to management, even (or maybe especially) in a down economy. I also think that those SolidWorks users that have never attended have finally stepped up and said "Enough is enough, I want/need/deserve to go", and they've put some real thought and effort into justifying the expense.
I've seen a lot of emails recently that all say the same thing…"Hey Richard, I finally got the approval to attend SolidWorks Wordl, I'll see you there!"
I'm betting I'll see more of those in the next week. It's not too late to register, but don't wait much longer. Online registration ends soon, so head over and sign up today.
