SWUGN Year in Review – July 2009

Top Story
The SWUGN Summit – Columbus draws 105 attendees, far above the expected turnout.  The event features 10 different presenters, and is represented by 5 different user groups.  Many of the presenters were doing their first ever sessions, and all of them did an outstanding job.  The hands-on 3D controller session by Dan Bertschi was also the first of it's kind at a Summit event.

Honorable Mentions
The new SolidWorks Forums are launched to much fanfare.  The new (and working) search tool makes the entire effort worthwhile.

Ricky Jordan gets lost on his way to visit relatives.  He eventually finds his way, but not before everyone on Twitter gets to hear the story – LIVE.

The SolidWorks World Call-for-Papers is announced.  Now we can all get really excited.

My official title is Senior User Advocacy & SolidWorks User Groups - but most people just call me "The User Group Guy". I've been a SolidWorks user since 1997, and was one of the founding members of the SWUGN Committee. Since starting the Central Texas SolidWorks User Group in 1999, my career path has led me to DS SolidWorks and a dream job supporting the SolidWorks User Group Network worldwide.
