SWW Speaker Spotlight – Richard Wand

The first time you see one of Richard Wand's presentations, you'll be blown away.  Richard will command your attention not only with his knowledge of the subject, but by his speaking style.  Always smiling, always talking, and always looking like he's having fun, Richard can speak on many topics.

Renowned in the SolidWorks Community for his knowledge on analysis, Richard has presented at several user group meetings outside of his own, and demand for his presentations is growing.  At SolidWorks World 2008 in San Diego, his presentation on managing large assemblies was one of the highest rated user presentations.  This year, Richard returns to the analysis track, presenting a case study on using SolidWorks and SolidWorks Simulation to help solve customer issues.  If your work involves SolidWorks Simulation, you do not want to miss this session.

Richard and his father Graham run MJ Engineering, a contract engineering firm located near Columbus, Ohio.  Both Graham's are involved with local SolidWorks and Simulation User Groups as well.  To the best of my knowledge, it's the only Father/Son team in SWUGN.  Thanks to both of them, SolidWorks users are well taken care of in Central Ohio.

My official title is Senior User Advocacy & SolidWorks User Groups - but most people just call me "The User Group Guy". I've been a SolidWorks user since 1997, and was one of the founding members of the SWUGN Committee. Since starting the Central Texas SolidWorks User Group in 1999, my career path has led me to DS SolidWorks and a dream job supporting the SolidWorks User Group Network worldwide.
