No Surprise This Year at SolidWorks World?

I’ve mentioned before that one of my favorite things about SolidWorks World is the "surprise" guest that shows up unexpectedly each year.  Orange County Choppers, Leonard Nimoy, and the guys from Mythbusters are just a couple of the really great moments in SWW history.  For the past four years, I’ve been privy to some inside information regarding the conference, but it’s always been understood that if the special guest was to be revealed in a meeting that I was to be told so I could exit and keep myself (happily) in the dark.

Last year, Randall Newton almost spilled the beans, and I had to threaten him with bodily harm if he revealed it before the conference (not really…but…)

Turns out that this year will be different.  In fact, I already know who the "surprise" guest is, and soon, so will you.  Matthew West is even running a contest to see if you can guess.  There is only one hint – a list of names from the Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire.

I’ll admit to being personally disappointed to knowing ahead of time, but I’m excited nonetheless by the choice.  And, with any luck at all, the SolidWorks events team will have something else up their sleeve.

I sure hope so.
