Passing the Torch in Northeast Ohio

It may surprise you to know that most groups in the SolidWorks User Group Network carry the same leadership year after year.  SolidWorks User Group leaders are special people, spending many hours of their own time to help keep fellow users informed, educated, and entertained.  So it’s always a little sad when a user group leader says goodbye, for whatever reason.

Dan Bertschi founded NEOSWUG in late 2005, and stills remembers when 11 people showed up for the first meeting.  Things have changed remarkably since then.  NEOSWUG has developed into one of the Midwest’s strongest user groups, and Dan has been nominated as SWUGN’s Group Leader of the Year award twice.  NEOSWUG’s annual BBQ meeting is a huge hit, and the March 08 meeting will go down in SWUGN history as one of the best ever.

I doubt that Dan will remove himself entirely from the SolidWorks Community, and will continue to be a big asset to NEOSWUG and SWUGN.  I’ll miss interacting with him on a regular basis, but will look forward to meeting up again in Orlando for SolidWorks World 2009.

Thanks for your terrific service over the years Dan.  It’s good people like you that make my work so satisfying.

My official title is Senior User Advocacy & SolidWorks User Groups - but most people just call me "The User Group Guy". I've been a SolidWorks user since 1997, and was one of the founding members of the SWUGN Committee. Since starting the Central Texas SolidWorks User Group in 1999, my career path has led me to DS SolidWorks and a dream job supporting the SolidWorks User Group Network worldwide.
