A User Group Gathering in Madison

On August 5th, members of several user groups will converge on the campus of the University of Wisconsin to meet with SolidWorks CEO Jeff Ray and members of the SolidWorks Product Development team, and get a first class tour of the UW CAE department.  We’re expecting a great turnout.

MASWUG is one of the original SolidWorks User groups, and will be celebrating their 10th anniversary later this year.  The MASWUG website features meeting notes that date all the way back to November 1998.  It’s fun to browse through the minutes and see all of the names that have been associated with this group over the years.  Past officers include Jeff Wong who once delivered a great SolidWorks World session on setting up and maintaining a SolidWorks User Group.  Jeff was one of my mentors (although he may not know it) back in the days when I was running CTSUG.

Current MASWUG group leader David Hurst has been a great help in putting this all together, and special thanks to Wendy Harrison for her efforts.  I’m really looking forward to this meeting.

My official title is Senior User Advocacy & SolidWorks User Groups - but most people just call me "The User Group Guy". I've been a SolidWorks user since 1997, and was one of the founding members of the SWUGN Committee. Since starting the Central Texas SolidWorks User Group in 1999, my career path has led me to DS SolidWorks and a dream job supporting the SolidWorks User Group Network worldwide.
