href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fwww.solidworks.com\u002Fsw\u002Fsuccesses\u002Fcustomer-story.htm?record=Worcester-Polytechnic-Institute&id=6466\">SOLIDWORKS case study with WPI\u003C\u002Fa>, we interviewed Michael Gennert, Robotics Engineering Program Director at WPI.  WPI was the first college in the USA to offer an undergraduate degree in Robotics Engineering.   Students can not only model  designs in 3D but also take advantage of integrated motion, analysis, and visualization tools.  Researchers at WPI use SOLIDWORKS as their innovation platform.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cfigure class=\"wp-block-image \u002F>\u003C\u002Ffigure>\u003Cp>Two years ago, intern, Gabrielle Fanzini used SOLIDWORKS software to create more than 300 models of mechanical and electrical components and assemblies included in the kits that high school students use in conjunction with the FIRST Robotics Competition.  These models are part of the\u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fwww.solidworks.com\u002Fsw\u002Feducation\u002Frobot-student-design-contest.htm\"> www.solidworks.com\u002FFIRST \u003C\u002Fa>library in the Kit of Parts.  Gabrielle will href=\".\u002Fbrands\u002Fteacher\u002F2015\u002F06\u002Fwhat-a-summer-for-engineers-robots-and-battlebots.html\">Paul Ventimiglia\u003C\u002Fa> as a student in the basement of WPI’s Higgins Lab practicing moving dirt for the NASA Robotics Competition which he would go on to win.   Paul now is a major contender in Battlebots, a talented designer, and dedicated
