To drive the digital thread throughout a Model-Based Enterprise, \u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fwww.youtube.com\u002Fwatch?time_continue=5&v=YzQ8URIwlxg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">SOLIDWORKS MBD 2018\u003C\u002Fa> can now export software-readable annotations in STEP242 in accordance with \u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fwww.iso.org\u002Fiso\u002Fcatalogue_detail.htm?csnumber=57620\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ISO 10303-242: 2014\u003C\u002Fa>. Figure 4 shows one example. These intelligent annotations in the neutral format can be viewed and analyzed by software programs. Therefore, this digital bridge can enable multiple downstream manufacturing automation opportunities, such as machining and inspection. By the way, SOLIDWORKS MBD 2018 can also import annotations from Creo, NX, CATIA and STEP242.
