They had masks, but not enough filters to adequately supply the masks and their officers.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>It took creative thinking to find filters that weren’t depleted in stores or online. Using filters different than the standard issue involved re-designing and reverse engineering the force’s respirator mask filter canister in SOLIDWORKS.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>After sourcing new filters from \u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fwww.milwaukeetool.com\u002FCompany\u002FMilwaukee-Story\">Milwaukee Tool\u003C\u002Fa> and O-rings from \u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fwww.bradleycorp.com\u002F\">Bradley Corp\u003C\u002Fa>, \u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fwww.gsc-3d.com\u002F\">GSC’s\u003C\u002Fa> 3D printing expert Aaron Niedermann quickly started prototyping an adapter for the filters, since they are a different size from the force’s normal supply.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>He reverse engineered the filter canisters in SOLIDWORKS and began testing prototype parts on our \u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fwww.gsc-3d.com\u002Fadditive-manufacturing\u002Fhp\u002F\">HP 3D printers\u003C\u002Fa>.
