Our Value Added Reseller, GoEngineer is expanding their outreach to FIRST teams in a variety of ways.  GoEngineer employees are judges, mentors and advisors to FIRST teams and STEM Education advocates.

This year, GoEngineer is expanding their online education offering to FIRST students with their online  SOLIDWORKS Fundamentals for FIRST Robotics Course.

From understanding design intent up to manufacturing drawings and multi-part assemblies, students can learn how to create effective designs using SOLIDWORKS CAD.

Similar to GoEngineer’s course to thousands of our commercial clients, students will learn:

  • SOLIDWORKS Basics and the User Interface
  • Introduction to Sketching
  • Basic Part Modeling
  • Patterning
  • Revolved Features
  • Using Drawings
  • Bottom-Up Assembly Modeling
  • Using Assemblies

Got questions?  The course also provides “Office Hours” every Friday 12pm-1pm EST.

You can get to know your talented instructor, Brian Childree from GoEngineer.  Brian has been teaching SOLIDWORKS to new and experience users for over 7 years.  With a wide range of Engineering and design experience from medical devices, to aerospace, oil and gas, and consumer products, Brian is able to put the tools and features of SOLIDWORKS into context for how Designers and Engineers will actually use it.
