From lightsabers to astromech droids, this post combines CAD with a galaxy far, far away.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>Design your own lightsaber\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>Whether your loyalties fall on the light or dark side of the force, building your own lightsaber is something all fans have thought of. Aaron Winthers, SOLIDWORKS Application Engineer at \u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fwww.prismeng.com\u002F\" target=\"_blank\" data-id=\"36541\">Prism Engineering\u003C\u002Fa>, and Joe Galliera, Senior Technical Sales Specialist with SOLIDWORKS, collaborated to help you design your own elegant weapon for a more civilized age.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp>Aaron began the project by searching the internet for lightsaber design plans. He found a model inspired by Luke Skywalker’s Return of the Jedi model. \u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fjayseaprod.wix.com\u002Fjayseaproductionsfinal#!__site\u002Fpage-5\u002Fphotostackergallery2=7\" target=\"_blank\" data-id=\"36541\">Click here to view the model\u003C\u002Fa>.  Aaron designed the lightsaber to have dynamic motion of its blade at the assembly level.
