The function is located under the Center icon’s drop-down menu in the Draw section of the Home tab in the ribbon.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Likewise, when selected, you’ll be prompted to specify an axis position, meaning where your spiral or helix begins. Then, you’ll select a base radius or diameter, by either clicking on a position in the drawing window, or typing a specific length into the command window.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Next up, you’ll define the top radius, diameter, or spiral of your helix, and then press enter. If you select spiral, you’ll be asked for a pitch, which is the distance between the revolutions in your spiral design.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lastly, \u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fwww.draftsight.com\u002F?utm_medium=Display&utm_source=Blog&utm_campaign=DraftSight_Blog&utm_content=Blog_RC_InText_10212019&utm_term=link-text\" data-id=\"59321\">DraftSight\u003C\u002Fa> offers four drawing options, ensuring you the freedom to express your ideal vision.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First up is the Axis endpoint option, this transforms your spiral into a straight helix, and you’ll be asked to specify its final endpoint. Keep in mind that unless you choose Axis endpoint, your drawing will be a circular spiral, rather than a vertical helix shape.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The next option allows you to change the Direction of your spiral to clockwise or counterclockwise.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The last two options are Pitch and Revolutions, which do exactly what their names suggest.
