That said, having to set up identical work spaces every time I start a new project can feel time consuming and chore-like – discouraging me from prioritizing organization in my designs.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thankfully, I recently discovered that I can create my own personalized \u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fwww.draftsight.com\u002F?utm_medium=Display&utm_source=Blog&utm_campaign=DraftSight_Blog&utm_content=Blog_RC_InText_3122020&utm_term=link-text\" data-id=\"59019\">DraftSight\u003C\u002Fa> Drawing Templates and save them as .DWT files for future drawings.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In doing so, I can preset my preferred Layers, Linetypes, Dimension Styles, Text Styles, Units, Title Sheets, and Blocks, so that they’re already activated when I start a new project later on – all I have to do is open my saved Drawing Template, and voila!\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Drawing Templates are created by simply setting up your usual drafting framework – including text styles, sizes, layers, and title frames according to your project needs.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pro tip: if you draft for multiple clients, or do more than one type of CAD work, create different templates for each one, so that your work always aligns with your current task.\u003C\u002Fp>\u003Cp class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once you’ve inserted your correct drawing settings, either press the Save icon in the upper left corner of your \u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fwww.draftsight.com\u002F?utm_medium=Display&utm_source=Blog&utm_campaign=DraftSight_Blog&utm_content=Blog_RC_InText_3122020&utm_term=link-text\" data-id=\"59019\">DraftSight\u003C\u002Fa> window, or click the Save As… option under the \u003Ca href=\"https:\u002F\u002Fwww.draftsight.com\u002F?utm_medium=Display&utm_source=Blog&utm_campaign=DraftSight_Blog&utm_content=Blog_RC_InText_3122020&utm_term=link-text\" data-id=\"59019\">DraftSight\u003C\u002Fa> logo icon. This will open a Save As window, where you can name your file and change your file type to Drawing Template (*.dwt).
