Tales of an IQMS Trade Show Coordinator: MEDTECH Week, MN
My trade show travels take me all over North America and this week me and my roller bag full of swag headed to the city of the red bullseye, Minneapolis. As a first timer to this city, all I knew was Target Corporation was headquartered here. However, this week, I and thousands of others weren’t flocking here looking for a good deal. Instead, we came to participate in the Minnesota MEDTECH week. MEDTECH Week is comprised of conference education sessions, speakers and exhibitors like myself that are all in one way or another involved in the medical manufacturing industry. BINGO! That’s us!
MEDTECH Week 2015
The trade show floor brought together Design & Manufacturing, Plastec, Automation Technology and a Quality showcase under one convention center roof. When booking this event, I knew this would be right up our alley. The 600 aisle as a matter of fact, right across from the Cold Jet dry-ice cleaning machine. Who knew dry-ice broken up into little particles could clean so well and be so, um, cool?
Once the show got rolling, floods of people meandered up and down the aisles. Little did I know that in two days I would talk to more users of our ERP software than ever before! From production floor users to CEO’s, I talked for hours about how IQMS is keeping up with the ever changing and heavily regulated medical manufacturing industry. I listened to our customers challenges as a medical manufacturer and gained insight as to why IQMS continues to be their top ERP medical manufacturing software provider.
I’ll tell you right now, we aren’t their top ERP manufacturing software provider just because I’m standing in a fancy booth handing out swag. Customers like Phillips-Medisize, SMC Ltd. and Accumold all said, “IQMS is a very powerful tool.” IQMS software has the ability to handle their business needs, which makes them successful medical device manufacturers and industry leaders. Seeing that they were all exhibitors at the show too makes me realize that IQMS is in the right place.
Over the course of a week I learned Minneapolis is an innovative hub for medical device manufacturing. This is a city where exhibitors and attendees came from all over the country to learn what’s the next best thing in the medical industry. I saw everything from lightning fast robots to implantable microchips.
Ultimately, the sales guys got some leads and I was able to bring home some positive feedback (minus the swag). BULLSEYE!
