SOLIDWORKS Part Reviewer: Complex Sheetmetal Tutorial Part 3

Complex Sheet Metal Part 3
: Sheet metal features are used so that the part can be flattened out to create a flat pattern.  The base flange was built it flat state to ensure correct footprint. A 90 Degree Sketched Bend places the bend centerline right on top of the sketch. The features are all mirrored with respect to the front plane. Edge flanges are used because not all features could be mirrored. A 90 degree Sketched Bend bends both flanges; the bend centerline is right on top of the sketch line. All sharp corners are broken except for inside locating tabs. Check out the Complex Sheet Metal Part 1 and Part 2 tutorials to learn more.
