    CNC Classes: Advanced Modeling

    Hi there Teachers.

I just got the okay to post this on the Teachers Web Site.  This is something that is a little more advanced for our upper class students or any of those teachers that might want to tackle this one.  I would suggest strongly to utilize this one in those classes that might have CNC programing that can cut out gears.  The reason here is simple.  I've been using tools for many years and tried to cut out these gears using a scroll saw and made a real mess of things.  Of I guess I can also tell you that as of late I have only one eye working.  Must be getting old.  Anyway, this beautiful wooden pendulum clock was first put out on the internet by a Mr. Brian Law of the UK around 2001 and when I contacted him he no longer had his original SolidWorks files for it.  So I downloaded his PDF document which he posts on the following web site and re-did his clock creation in the 2007 SolidWorks version.   http://www.woodenclocks.co.uk  This is a peice of real art work that can adorn the trophy case of any school and yes it does indeed work.  Working carefully along with following the information given in his PDF document and using a hard wood like Maple can result in an absolutely beautiful project.  I have zipped the files because my native files were much too long.  I would advise you to use a high speed internet connecton to download them from the Teachers Web Site.  Down below here is just a couple of pictures of this fine working clock that Mr. Law designed.  I did redraw this clock using his PDF which he allows to be downloaded.  Enjoy.
