Most SOLIDWORKS User Group meetings follow the same basic format – food and networking, followed by a technical session or two (sometimes three), and a wrap-up featuring prize drawings and a look at the next meeting. Every year though, some of our fantastic user group leaders come up with something special.
The MCCC Meeting – Southeast Michigan/Northwest Ohio SOLIDWORKS User Group
At least once per year, Dean Kerste goes all out and welcomes more than 100 people to Monroe County Community College in Monroe, Michigan. The meeting features a vendor faire, technical sessions, and lots and lots of students. The food is prepared by the college’s culinary students, and it’s always a fine meal. This years meeting will be held next week, April 11th.
The Mastercam Meeting – Connecticut SOLIDWORKS User Group (ConnSWUG)
On June 15th, members of the Connecticut SOLIDWORKS User group will be invited back once again to Mastercam headquarters in Tolland, Connecticut for this annual meeting. I finally got a chance to attend last year and had a great time. Ed Gebo and Ed Poole do a wonderful job of making this meeting happen.
The Summer Cookout Meeting – Northeast Ohio SOLIDWORKS User Group (NEOSWUG)
Craig Riedel and Jerry Kassil continue a long-running tradition by holding the annual Summer Cookout meeting at Furnace Run Metro Park in Brecksville, Ohio every June. Craig, Jerry, and Tony Hodos cook up the meat, and the members bring the side dishes for this potluck style meeting. There’s no date yet, but you should start seeing information about the meeting soon.
The Dave & Buster’s Meeting – Panama City Beach SOLIDWORKS User Group
This year, late July will be the time to be in Panama City Beach for the annual Dave & Buster’s meeting. Kendra Wardlow and the rest of the members of the 2016 SWUGN User Group of the Year gather together to play games, have contests, and eat great food. Oh yeah, they learn about SOLIDWORKS too!
SOLIDWORKS User Group meetings are already special, but some groups take it just a little bit further. We hope you will be able to attend one of these extra special meetings this year.
