User group leaders often tell me that getting their members to present in front of the group is a little like pulling teeth. Well, here's a real tooth pulling story for you...
Bobby Moore (along with Joe Rowsey) started the New Orleans/Baton Rouge SolidWorks User Group earlier ths year, and that was a big reason why we decided to hold a SWUGN Summit event in the area. Turnout was pretty good for a first event, and everyone I spoke with enjoyed the day very much. With one exception..
After he had presented his session, Bobby came and told me that he had a severe toothache, and needed to leave for the dentist. Now I know a little bit about toothaches, and I've had some serious dental work as a result. I wished him well, told him we could handle things, and off he went.
Then...he came back!
It turned out to be an impacted molar, the dentist removed it, and you could tell by the swelling in his face that it was going to hurt later. Fortunately, he was still numb from the visit. Bobby stuck it out for the rest of the day - now that's dedication!!
Thanks to everyone for a terrific day - Joe, Bobby, Steve - keep up the good work with the local chapters. Ben and Tommy - thanks for coming and representing your customers. And of course, Keri was spot on as usual.
Next stop Toronto - look out Canada, here comes SWUGN.
