I'm Back. No, Wait, I'm Gone Again

My week long vacation is over, and I'm back in the office trying to catch up before I hit the road again this week and most of August.

The Colorado portion of the vacation was very nice.  We were in Woodland Park for the Super Series West Regional Baseball Championship.  My son Stone's team finished fourth and earned medals for their efforts.  In the elimination game, Stone crushed a home run over the center field fence - his second of the season.  I thought after the first one I would be able to handle it graciously, but that was not the case.  Looks like I'll tear up every time he hits one.  It was a terrific end to the season, and my whole family really enjoyed the time away.

I had to miss four of the games to attend the SWUGN Summit - Columbus on Tuesday the 21st.  What an event!  We ended up with 105 attendees and some really good presentations.  Jeff Sweeney did a nice write-up, you can read it here.  Thanks to all of the presenters, resellers, and user group leaders who helped to make this one of the best Summit events yet.  Special thanks to all of the attendees who stopped me several times during the day to see if I had updates on the baseball games.  It's really nice to know that you all cared enough to want to know.

I'm heading out Tuesday for Lincoln, Nebraska to do a presentation at the SWUGONE meeting.  Wayne Tiffany will be joining me there as well.  This will be my third trip to SWUGONE, but my first visit to group leader Lynette Sabatka's school.  It'll be a quick trip, but a fun one.

August is really busy with a trip to Vancouver, BC for a Summit event on the 4th, off to Iowa for meetings of the Iowa and Eastern Iowa User Groups the week of the 10th - 14th, and then a trip to Minneapolis on the 18th for another SWUGN Summit.  It's a busy schedule, but it means seeing hundreds of SolidWorks Users, so it's definitely worth it.

I'm gearing up for several more trips to finish out the year.  Looks like the last half of 2009 will be a busy one.

And...Fall Baseball Season starts in about 5 weeks.
