The criteria for the User Group of the Year award includes things like quality meetings, steady or increasing attendance, and a leadership that takes an active role in the SolidWorks Community. The Central MA/Northern CT SolidWorks User Group is all that and more.
Originally founded by Ed Gebo in January 2007, CMNC-SWUG has contributed greatly to the success of all SolidWorks User Groups in the Northeast US. It's leadership has included Tom Cote, Randy Lennox, and Glen LePage (they all have nicknames too). Randy has moved on to lead the Boston Area SolidWorks User Group, and Ed now heads up the Connecticut SolidWorks User Group.
So it was left to Tom to take the stage at SolidWorks World to accept the award for SWUGN's User Group of the Year. For all that this team has done for CMNC-SWUG, they've done even more for the users in the entire New England area. From outstanding meetings in unique venues, to the NESWUC User Event, to arranging the first "developers" meeting, the guys at CMNC-SWUG have shown that they are truly deserving of this year's award.

I've met those guys, Richard, and they're a great group. I had the honor of presenting at last year's NESWUG and it was an awesome experience. I'm hoping to go back this year!

We are really honored by being chosen the user group of the year. But this is just the beginning of the journey for the CMNC group. We share the award with all that have participated in a CMNC meeting whether it was attending, presenting or sponsoring. They are the people that make it enjoyable to take the time to plan a meeting knowing so many people enjoy the meetings.
Richard one correction I have not moved on from CMNC-SWUG. I am still very active as the Technical Director of the group. I preferred to keep that title instead of making it tri-chair committee knowing that we work as a team to run the group.
