Wayne Tiffany's SWW Presentation is Online Already

Check out Wayne's SolidWorks World podcast and you'll get a very good preview of his sheet metal presentation - the first twelve minutes or so, and during the "Wisdom of the Week" segment.

Wayne's presentation is scheduled for Tuesday the 6th, 4:00 - 5:30, but history tells us he'll probably do the presentation several times in the hallways too!

Ricky Jordan Gets Some Recognition

It's always nice when your employer recognizes you with a pat on the back, or an 'atta boy.  But it's a real treat when you get a mention on the company website.

Another SolidWorks World Fanatic?

I was trading some emails a couple of weeks ago with Kerri Dunne, Marketing Events Manager at SolidWorks.  Through the course of the messages, it became apparent that we shared a similar passion for SolidWorks World.  I always thought I was the  biggest fan of the conference - maybe not.

Some Users Fly Under the Radar

We talk a lot here about some of our high profile SolidWorks users and how important they are to the SolidWorks Community.  Every now and then I am reminded of other "lesser known" users and their contributions to SolidWorks and the community.  Ed Cyganik is one of those people.

I don't remember at which SolidWorks World conference I first met Ed, but I do remember the situation - listening to Ed pummel a couple of Product Managers at a focus group discussion over what he considered shortcomings with SolidWorks drawings.  Ed's a real stickler for drawing standards (that's his job after all), and to hear him tell it, SolidWorks drawings were NOT up to snuff.  I remember walking into that focus group with three or four of my own issues, and walking out with more than a dozen ("hmmm..yep, you're right Ed, that does need improvement").

Ed's determination and participation over the years has not gone unrewarded.  I don't know if he's completely satisfied yet, but I know he'll stick with it.  A charter member of the drawings advisory board, he's been directly responsible for many of the improvements SolidWorks users see today.

Ed will be back at SolidWorks World next year after a two year absence.  I've missed his presence at the conference, and I'm glad he'll be there.   I also plan to attend his SolidWorks Implementation session (Monday the 5th, 1:30pm - 2:30pm).  If you're the person responsible for getting off on the right foot with SolidWorks, you should be there too.  You can get a preview of his session by listening to his SolidWorks World podcast.

A Terrific Twosome

Two of my favorite SolidWorks folks - SolidWorks Founder Jon Hirschtick, and the Creator of eDrawings Rick Chin, are teaming up for a unique "engineer to engineer" webcast tomorrow at 10:00am Pacific (US) time.

SolidWorks World and [The Big Game] - What a Combination

Add one more special event to the SolidWorks World 2007 schedule.  I've just been told that there will be a football game that ends the season for professional teams watch party on Sunday at SolidWorks World, complete with food, drink, and big-screen TVs.  The event will take place in Hall C after the Welcome Reception in the Partner Pavilion.  The event starts at 5:00pm and ends after the game.

All you die-hard football fans, please remove this as a reason not to register for SolidWorks World.
