SolidWorks 1995 to 2012 – The Evolution of a 3D CAD System

Last Tuesday at our annual press day, VP of Product Management Fielder Hiss gave a presentation discussing the history of SolidWorks. As part of this, he discussed the initial release of SolidWorks 1995, and then discussed new features that were added with each new release, up through our current SolidWorks 2012 release.

We managed to capture this on film, and thought that some of our customers might be interested to see how some of the things everyone takes for granted now were truly innovative when they were first released. Take a trip down memory lane with Fielder, and let us know what features you thought were the most innovative when you first saw them.

And if you haven't already, be sure to check out our new SolidWorks 2012 website!
