Five Questions Friday with Jeremy Luchini of SolidWorks

Jeremy Name: Jeremy Luchini

Title: Manager, SolidWorks Worldwide Certification Program

Hometown: Barnstable, Mass.

About: When not enlisting new users into the SolidWorks fold, Jeremy hosts the Let’s Go Design web series, where designers from all over the world collaborate to design a new product.

1. Why do you do the work you do?
I can think of no other industry that allows you to be more creative than ours. I love to build custom things. It’s a perfect match.

2. What is your proudest career moment?
Managing a program that has surpassed 25,000 certified users. When I took on the challenge of running SW certification, there were 600.

3. What goal inspires you most?
Even though it's not a career goal, I enjoy teaching others how to use SolidWorks the most. My inspiration comes from the students.

4. How has SolidWorks made a difference in your life?
It’s made all the difference. I design everything in SolidWorks and I love showing people how my ideas come to life with it.

5. Where’s the best place you’ve traveled?
Banff National Park still reigns number one. But tough competition from Italy, the Great Wall of China, and an amazing road trip throughout the USA. Wyoming is my pick as the most beautiful state.
