Everyone has their favorite car. A lot of my friends at SolidWorks prefer more classic cars, similar to the Factory Five Mark III we're building. I am more of a modernist, and my favorite car is the Koenigsegg CCR, which broke the speed record for a street legal car.
Koenigsegg designs all their cars using SolidWorks, in fact 80% of the parts in the cars were developed in-house by Koenigsegg's own crew, and they have a neat section of their site that shows some of the engineering they did. In fact, this picture is of the suspension arm and KACS (Koenigsegg Advanced Control System). KACS is a system that enables the driver to adjust the road holding, suspension, aerodynamics and braking components to suit individual preferences. And, here is a video of the Koenigsegg CCR breaking the record.
Now, if I just had $685,000 to buy a Koenigsegg... I actually got an opportunity to sit in a Koenigsegg CCR at SolidWorks World 2006 in Las Vegas - here's a picture on the left to prove it. (Notice how the security guard is trying to look away and pretend not to notice.) Next step, actually getting to drive!
